The time is now to put your favourite Borderland Thunder alongside the SIJHL’s elite performers.
The first-place Thunder (22-6-4-1) take on the defending champion Dryden Ice Dogs (20-12-2-1) on Tuesday night at the Ice for Kids Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
The game also will be the last formal chance for fans to cast their ballots for the Western Division’s First All-Star Team that will participate in next Wednesday’s SIJHL All-Star Game at the Fort William Gardens (Thunder Bay).
Voting also can be done at the Tagg’s Source for Sports store on Scott Street, with balloting scheduled to wrap up Wednesday.
Results will be tabulated over the following two days, with announcement of the official line-up to take place this weekend.
On the ice tonight, the Thunder will try to rebound after having their four-game winning streak halted Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the host Northwest Wisconsin Knights.
The Thunder have beaten the Ice Dogs twice in the past 13 days and are 4-1 against Dryden overall this season—the only loss being by forfeit back on Oct. 30.
Thunder head coach Dave Allison said Sunday that forward Aaron Grynol, who has been nursing a rotator cuff injury to his shoulder all season and sat out last weekend against the Knights for conditioning purposes, should make his debut tonight against Dryden.
