Local badminton player Anika Alexander wrapped up her trip to the 2010 Yonex Junior & U23 national badminton championships in Toronto with losses to some tough competition.
In the under-14 girls’ singles competition, Alexander fell 21-15/21-19 to Chantel Lui to finish 1-2 in that division.
In the girls’ doubles division, Alexander and partner Rachel Livergant lost 21-12/ 21-9 to Rosanna Chan and Valerie Cheung to finish at 0-2.
And in the mixed doubles event, Alexander and partner Cam Jensen were swept 21-14/21-10 by Vincent Bellehumeur and Alice Boivin to wind up 0-2 in that division.
In other badminton news, the Muskie girls’ doubles team of Kimika Alexander and Chelsea Carlson kicked off action at the all-Ontarios in Stratford this morning against Keijia Lin and Ava Wei.
Muskie boys’ singles player Rory Bagacki will open against Francis Lau.
