Local badminton player Anika Alexander dropped both of her opening matches at the 2010 Yonex Junior & U23 national championships in Toronto.
In under-14 girls’ singles action, Alexander fell 2-1 (21-16, 16-21, and 21-12) to Quebec’s Camille Leblanc yesterday.
Then in mixed doubles with partner Cam Jensen, they lost 2-0 (21-12 and 21-8) to Hasitha Sendiyaliyana and Danielle King this morning.
Alexander had a pair of games scheduled for later today, kicking off girls’ doubles action, along with partner Rachel Livergant, against Sommer Chau and Danica Lau this afternoon.
She then was to continue singles competition against Evelyne Wilkie this evening.
