Faced with the threat of being canned, the 2011 Borderland Soccer Association season is back on after a new board of directors was elected last Thursday night during the annual general meeting at the ’52 Canadians Arena boardroom.
Victor Sousa was elected president for this season, replacing the outgoing Tristan Hutton in the head role.
Laureen Peters is the new secretary for the league while Andrea Bell-Perreault will take over as registrar.
The position of women’s vice-president will be held by Amy Wilson-Hands, with Chris Faragher holding the position for the men’s side of the league.
Tanner Kaemingh will be the director of game officials.
The treasurer position was left vacant.
However, since the association’s constitution states only three positions needed to be filled in order to run, it will remain vacant for the time being.
With the board of directors now elected, the next step will to be get things ready for the start of the new season, slated for early June.
