A beginner’s guide to sno-cross

For all of you who enjoyed watching the sno-cross races here last weekend but didn’t know exactly what the difference was between each class and event, here you go.
The 440, 600, and Open are the sizes of engines the snowmachines are using in each class. The 440 CC can be fan and the 600 is liquid, and the open class is all liquid (the open also is unlimited to 800 cc).
Beginners are those who just recently started racing on a circuit while Sport-Riders usually have had one year of beginner under their belts.
Semi-pros can run longer laps and they have more experience, and usually have some type of sponsors.
