Women’s wellness event still open

It’s not too late for local women to sign up for the “Women’s Wellness Day” this Tuesday (March 8).
Hosted by the Rainy River District Women’s Shelter of Hope, it is being held at the Zion Lutheran Church from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in celebration of International Women’s Day.
“It’s for women that are more susceptible to burn out and wish to learn more about self-care,” said Corrine Colvin.
“This full day is for women to come together to learn new techniques of self-care from their community agencies,” she noted.
Some of the planned activities include an opening ceremony, yoga, art therapy, healthy boundaries, and a private cedar bath.
Colvin said the cedar bath is option and should be registered for in advance.
Elder Bessy Mainville will perform the opening and closing ceremonies.
Colvin added participants also will learn to network with other women and discover different resources the community has to offer.
Child care will be available, and a continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.
All attendees will be entered in a draw for a door prize, as well.
“All women will leave at the end of the day with a gift bag, and new techniques and awareness to assist them to create healthier lives,” Colvin remarked.
