Wolves host Barwick tonight

The Sight & Sound Wolves host Barwick at VanJura Park tonight in Rainy River District Fastball League playoff action.
The Wolves remain the team to beat in this year’s playoffs.
The regular season’s top team have cruised thus far in the post-season disposing of Sabaskong 12-6 before defeating Stratton 7-2 this past Tuesday.
Tonight’s opponent should provide a more difficult challenge.
Barwick played the role of underdog to perfection Tuesday night defeating Rainy River, the league’s second-seeded team during the regular season, 2-1 in 10 innings.
Barwick hurler George Oltsher out-dueled Murray Armstrong, the regular season’s leader in wins, to earn his team the victory.
First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m.
In other RRDFL playoff action, Rainy River look to get back on track when they face International Falls.
Both teams have everything to play for as the loser will be eliminated from the playoffs after suffering their second defeat.
International Falls eliminated Sabaskong with a 4-0 win this past Tuesday night to earn the right to face Rainy River.
The game featured the most dominant pitching performance of the season as International Falls starter Mike Imhoff pitched a perfect game.
In the other playoff match-up, Stratton will face Big Island.
Big Island eliminated Big Grassy Tuesday night to set up the showdown with Stratton.
Shawn Comegan and Will Handorgan provided the offence, each hitting home runs on route to the 8-7 victory.
Carl Big George Jr. picked up the win for Big Island while Jeff Morrison was saddled with the loss.
First pitch in both of the district games is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
