WHO choir rehearsal moved to Monday

The next rehearsal for the choir that will perform during the World Health Organization’s 11th-annual International Conference on Safe Communities here next month has been rescheduled for Monday night instead of Tuesday.
Organizer Diane Maxey said the date was changed so as not to conflict with the Kids & Co. performance slated for Tuesday evening.
She added the rehearsal, which will start at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, is the last chance of local youths and adults to get on board.
Maxey was pleased to say the choir’s numbers have swelled over the past couple of weeks, now exceeding her target size of 100 singers.
“We have 20 adults who are involved, and we must have about 80 kids by now,” she noted.
The choir plans to perform songs of peace and unity before the hundreds of delegates from 33 different countries who will be attending the conference, which runs May 7-9.
Maxey promised the choir’s performances will be entertaining with not only positive lyrics, but also some choreography to emphasize its youthful spirit.
