As we enter the Labour Day long weekend, Unifor continues to expand across the region.
Fifty employees at Weechi-it-te-win Family Services last night voted to join Unifor.
These employees provide family support services and operate a residential treatment facility serving 10 First Nations’ communities across the Rainy River and Kenora districts.
“As we celebrate organized labour’s efforts to improve the lives of working families, we are extremely pleased to welcome these new members to Unifor,” said National Representative Stephen Boon.
“We will be arranging meetings with these new Unifor members this fall to elect a bargaining committee, and develop a bargaining agenda in order to initiate negotiations for a new collective agreement,” he noted.
