Water treatment plant experiencing high flows

The town’s water treatment plant is experiencing high flows, primarily due to infiltration and inflow.
Operations and Facilities manager Travis Rob said he’d like to remind residents that at this time of year the town requires sump pumps to be discharged to the surface of yards or storm sewers.

They’re not permitted to be discharged in sanitary sewers.

Rob also asked residents to ensure sump pumps are being properly discharged to help control flows at the waste water treatment plant.

Meanwhile, construction on the 300 block of Second Street East is still on schedule and the contractor will be on-site next week for the completion of paving.

This step will be the end of the project for this year.
