The public has one week to vote on who they feel are the most deserving businesses and employees nominated for the 21st-annual Rainy River District Business Awards.
Voting is expected to open by this evening and will run through next Friday (Feb. 3).
Just go to the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s website homepage (www.fortfranceschamber.com) to vote for the various businesses or individuals nominated in nine different categories.
Chamber executive director Jennifer Soderholm still was confirming all of this year’s nominees this morning, but said it looks like there will about 60 nominees across the various categories.
A final list of nominees will be posted once voting begins this evening.
The winners will be announced and honoured during the annual awards gala, sponsored by New Gold, set for Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Copper River Inn.
The evening will feature a meal and entertainment by comedy juggler Robin Chestnut.
Melanie Williams of Party Rock DJ Services will be the emcee.
Everyone–Chamber member or not–is welcome to attend the gala.
Tickets are on sale now, with non-Chamber member tickets, which cost $50 each, available at From the Grind Up, Betty’s, Copper River Inn, and the Chamber office (274-5773).
Chamber member tickets, which cost $45 each, are available only through the Chamber office.
“Seats are limited and they’re already starting to sell,” noted Soderholm.
“People are buying tables,” she added.
“If you buy a table of eight, you actually get one ticket free–you actually just pay for seven.”
