Voter cards in mail

Staff

Voter information cards for the Oct. 19 federal election are going out this week.
Elections Canada said the cards are printed and will be mailed to some 25 million registered electors.
The card will tell them when and where to vote, and shows the accessibility of their polling site.
An election reminder brochure then will be mailed out next week to let residents know that if they didn’t get a voter information card, they should contact Elections Canada or drop by their local returning office.
The Elections Canada office here is located in the Rainy Lake Plaza on King’s Highway.
The office provides information on voting or registering residents to vote.
Advance polling days will be Oct. 9-12.
Election Day is Oct. 19.
Electors can register at the polls and I.D. will be required to vote.
In related news, a local all-candidates’ meeting—hosted by the Rainy River Federation of Agriculture and featuring Moe Comuzzi (Conservative), Christy Radbourne (Green Party), John Rafferty (NDP), and Don Rusnak (Liberal)—will be held tomorrow (Sept. 22) at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
