Visitation policy upgraded for Riverside’s Long Term Care residents

By Riverside Health Care

Based on encouraging public health indicators, the Ministry of Long Term Care is progressing with its plan to ease certain temporary measures currently in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19.

Accordingly, Riverside Health Care has adjusted its COVID-19 visitation requirements for Long Term Care.

Starting immediately:

  • All general visitors 5 years and older must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Children under 5 years of age will continue to be restricted from entering long-term care.
  • The number of visitors (including caregivers) has increased to three at a time.
  • All residents, regardless of vaccination status, can resume social day absences.
  • For any day absences outside of the home, Residents should do their best to wear a mask, wash hands frequently and avoid large social gatherings. Upon return from an absence, Residents can expect to be actively screened and undergo an immediate rapid antigen test upon return to the Home. A PCR test will also be administered on day five following the absence.
  • Social overnight absences may resume for residents who have had at least three COVID-19 vaccine doses. Overnight absences may require an isolation period upon return.

We thank you for your continued support and commitment to protecting the health and safety of those in our care, their loved ones, our team members and the community.
