Valentine social for seniors set

The Seniors’ Coalition, Good Neighbours Council, and Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau got together and decided we should put on a seniors’ social.
Apparently, International Falls has at least four places where seniors can go to dance but there’s not much opportunity on his side in our area for the old-time music Marv’s Pinetoppers provide!
If you’re 55 or older, check out our Seniors’ Valentine Social this Saturday (Feb. 10) from 7-10:30 p.m. at the old CN station. Admission is $2, which includes munchies and cake later on as well as an hourly draw and door prize.
A non-alcoholic punch or coffee also will be served for a nominal charge.
Best of all, Marv and his Pinetoppers will be playing the old-fashioned music you’ll want to tap your toes to if you don’t feel like dancing.
Incidentally, that’s why we’re calling it a “social” instead of “dance.” You don’t have to dance if you don’t feel like it–you can just sit back and enjoy the music and socialize with friends (old and new).
We’re going to decorate the hall so the atmosphere will be warm and friendly. The station also is wheelchair accessible.
Needless to say, your attendance will determine whether we put on more during the year. See you there!
By the way, while we’re addressing this article to seniors, you missed some great presentations the seniors’ coalition has been putting on at its bi-monthly afternoon meetings.
The next presentation will be by a guest nutritionist on “Nutrition and Seniors” on March 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the CN station.
