VALA show tickets on sale this weekend

The annual VALA show will be hitting the Townshend Theatre stage again this February and tickets for the fabulous event are going on sale this weekend.
They will be available at Betty’s, with tickets for the evening shows costing $16 each while those for the matinee are $13 (students and children cost $8 for all three shows).
One dollar from each ticket sold will go towards the Fort Frances Public Library’s “Building for the Future” fundraising campaign.
The show, which will run Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. and again Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., promises to offer plenty of terrific entertainment from the Rainy River District and surrounding areas.
The theme this year is “The Wacky River Cruise,” with the cruise starting in Fort Frances and continuing on down the Rainy River, stopping in many ports including Emo, Barwick, and Stratton.
The final destination is Rainy River.
The Harlequin Barbershop Quartet from Winnipeg will be one of the featured acts on the cruise and they are sure to be a “real show-stopper.”
The group was formed in 1998 and has been entertaining audiences ever since, including two different performances with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and singing on the Winnipeg Chapter’s annual shows.
They also earned the Red Carpet Division Novice Quartet award in 1999, and were selected as the Winnipeg Chapter Quartet of the Year for eight years straight.
People are encouraged to get their tickets early for this fantastic show as they are known to go quickly.
