Two killed in accident

Two people were killed, and two others injured, in a single-vehicle accident that happened early Sunday morning on Highway 11 near Jourdain Crescent on Couchiching.
The accident occurred when an eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a corner due to excessive speed, Fort Frances OPP reported.
The vehicle entered the north ditch and rolled over, travelling about 200 metres before coming to rest, police added.
Two of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle, police said.
Pronounced dead at the scene were the driver, Curtis L.J. Brown, 42, of Fort Frances, and passenger Krista L. Turcotte, 24, of Thunder Bay.
Two other passengers were taken to La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances with serious injuries, police reported.
Michael Anderson, 23, of Fort Frances, later was airlifted to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. Heather Morrisseau, 16, of Couchiching was treated and held for observation.
The accident remains under investigation, police said.
