Two people were taken to La Verendrye Hospital with undetermined injuries following a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Couchiching this morning.
Police said a westbound automobile struck the eastbound motorcycle around 9:35 a.m. after the car crossed the centre line on Highway 11 near Jourdain Crescent.
Highway 11 was closed briefly but has since been re-opened, police noted.
The accident remains under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to call the OPP at 274-3322.
In other news, one person was taken to hospital following a single-vehicle accident Sunday morning on Highway 502 about half-a-kilometre south of the Crowrock bridge.
The vehicle was southbound around 10:50 a.m. when it failed to negotiate a corner, causing the driver to lose control and enter the west ditch, striking a rock cut, police said.
Meanwhile, three people were taken to hospital in Atikokan for examination following a single-vehicle rollover yesterday around 1:30 a.m. on Brown’s Clearwater Lodge Road, located off Highway 622, 50 km north of Atikokan.
The vehicle swerved to miss a deer, resulting in the driver losing control and rolling over off road, police reported.
The three occupants walked three km for help, police added.
As well, Fort Frances OPP officers investigated a break-and-enter to a residence on the 500 block of Riverview Drive on Sunday around 8:15 p.m.
An unknown suspect entered the residence and took a paintball gun and several articles of jewellery from the home.
The investigation is continuing.
Also Sunday, around 2:50 a.m., Fort Frances OPP were advised of a male smashing a window in a parked truck in the 200 block of Third Street East.
After a brief foot chase, the officers apprehended a 20-year-old male of Fort Frances and located stolen property on his person.
He has been charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and theft under $5,000.
He was released from custody and will appear in court Sept. 13.
Then yesterday, Fort Frances OPP investigated a report of a youth breaking into vehicles in the 800 and 900 blocks of Christie and Armit Avenues.
After a foot chase with the youth, he was apprehended and arrested.
A 16-year-old Fort Frances male is in custody facing charges of break and enter, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and breach of probation.
The youth was to appear in court later today.

Finally, on Sunday around 3 a.m., Fort Frances OPP responded to a disturbance on the 200 block of Scott Street.
Subsequently, a 27-year-old Fort Frances woman was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place and breach of probation.
She was released and will appear in court at a later date.
