Turn empties into cure

Press Release

Turn empties into a cure on Saturday, May 27.
The Beer Store and its affiliated union, the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 12R24, are asking Ontarians to donate their empty beer, wine, and liquor containers during the 12th-annual “Returns for Leukemia Bottle Drive” at all 450 Beer Store locations across Ontario from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. that day.
All proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) in its mission to end blood cancers.
To date, close to $13 million has been donated to the LLSC to use towards research, public education, and patient/survivor care.
Someone in Canada is diagnosed with a blood cancer roughly every 23 minutes.
Being the fourth most-commonly diagnosed cancer in both men and women in Canada, and the most common form of cancer in children under the age of 14 in Canada, a cure for leukemia is greatly needed.
The “Returns for Leukemia Bottle Drive” is a fundraiser held each May at all Beer Store locations across Ontario by the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 12R24.
