Former local band “Tugnut” will be returning to Fort Frances on Sunday for an all-ages show at the Rainy Lake Hotel.
The doors open at 6 p.m., with admission being $5.
Original band members Joe Egan and Steve Vargas of Emo moved to Toronto last summer to pursue their musical careers.
The group, along with new member Marc Bourgon on bass, began a tour yesterday that will bring them through Fort Frances not once, but twice.
Their second show will be at Warp 9 on July 17, and will include a set by Winnipeg band HCE.
“Things are going good,” Egan said of the move to Toronto. “There’s so much more going on.”
Egan said the band formed here four or five years ago. They went through a number of personnel changes, but Egan and Vargas have been on board from the beginning.
“We never got serious until a couple of years ago,” he noted.
The band has a new CD, “A Tale Worth Repeating”—their second full-length release.
The tour will take them to British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba before finishing off in Toronto.
Their last gig of the tour will be July 21 at the renowned Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.
