The Community Drug Action Team conducted a vehicle stop in town last Wednesday, resulting in one person being charged with trafficking Oxycocet and possession of marijuana.
Subsequently, a search warrant was executed later that day at 528 Third St. W. by the Community Drug Action Team, along with support from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, the Northwest Region K-9 Unit, and members of the Fort Frances OPP detachment.
As a result of the police investigation, officers seized a number of drugs, including Oxycocet with a street value of more than $1,000.
“This quantity is substantial as this particular tablet is sold at approximately $9 per tablet on the street,” said OPP Cst. Anne McCoy.
Police arrested and charged two people with several criminal drug offences, including trafficking of Fentanyl patches, two counts of trafficking Oxycocets, possession of marijuana, and breach of probation.
The names of the accused are not being released at this time pending further police investigation.
All three are scheduled to appear in provincial court here on Jan. 25.
