The Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), in conjunction with the Fort Frances Crime Unit and OPP detachment members, recently completed three more drug investigations resulting in criminal charges against local residents.
On Aug. 29, police received information that a Fort Frances male was growing marijuana plants on his property.
Police attended the property and located three marijuana plants, with the street value being $3,000.
John Dustin, 60, was charged with production of marijuana, a Schedule II drug, and the plants were seized.
His next court appearance is Sept. 26.
On Sept. 6, police investigated the report of a male growing marijuana on his property in Barwick.
When officers arrived, they seized 12 plants, valued at $12,000, and 1,166 grams of dry marijuana bud, valued at $23,320.
Douglas Eugene Forbes, 47, was charged with production of marijuana.
His next court date is Oct. 17.
And on Sept. 7, police learned a female resident of Couchiching First Nations was trafficking cocaine.
A traffic stop was conducted by detachment members and a quantity of cocaine was located inside the vehicle, valued at $4,100.
As a result of an investigation, Kim Alexander, 44, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
Her next court appearance is Oct. 24.
