The Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire at a Lakeview Trailer Court residence last night.
Firefighters arrived at the scene on Maple Drive around 7:40 p.m. to see heavy smoke coming from the windows of the home’s south side.
They battled the blaze until 11 p.m.
No one was in the home at the time of the fire and the first notice of the incident was from a neighbour.
No injuries were reported.
Fire damage was confined mostly to the kitchen area and attic, but the residence suffered extensive smoke damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fort Frances Fire & Rescue Service would like to remind residents of the importance to take a few minutes to check that all smoke alarms are working.
