A Fort Frances resident has been charged following a traffic stop earlier this month.
According to a press release from the Rainy RiveR District Detachment of the OPP, on Sunday, March 8, officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle fail to stop at an intersection on Armit Avenue. Upon conducting the stop, the occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene on foot.
Following an investigation, officers discovered the driver was breaching the conditions of a conditional sentence order, and on Monday, March 9, officers located the individual and they were subsequently arrested and charged in relation to the incident.
According to the OPP’s release, a 45-year-old male of Fort Frances has been charged with breach of a conditional sentence order. The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort France on March 13.
