Any vendors still wanting to get in on the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Business & Community Expo had better hurry–not many booths are left.
A total of 38 vendors have booked more than 60 booth spaces at the expo, which is coming up April 21-22 at the Fort Frances Curling Club.
This means there’s only four booth spaces left, Chamber executive director Jennifer Soderholm said this morning.
“Sales have been going good,” she noted, adding that of the remaining four spaces, one has access to electricity while three do not.
“We are really excited by all of the different businesses that have contacted us, wanting to participate in this year’s expo,” said Soderholm.
“We’re looking forward to another great year, like last year,”
The expo will feature quite a few businesses that are returning.
For example, the Hardwear Company, Kenora’s outdoor sports centre, will be back with its bikes, skis, wakeboards, and more.
This vendor, which was quite popular with the public last year, will take up six booth spaces in order to demonstrate their equipment.
“We’ve got a few new businesses that are in to showcase their stuff–there’s really a great mix of stuff for everybody,” said Soderholm.
“There’s going to be a kids’ area, too, so we’re encouraging whole families to come down,” she added.
“Kids will have something to do while mom and dad have a chance to look around.”

The expo will run from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. on the Friday and again from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Saturday.
Admission is $3 per person, with children 12 and under being free.
The event is being held at the Fort Frances Curling Club for a second-straight year after last year saw more vendors and a greater attendance with the change of location.
The Little Amik Grill upstairs also will be open for expo-goers to purchase food and beverages.
