The Emo Toy Lending Resource Centre will present its first-ever winter carnival fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 23 from 1-3 p.m. at the Emo Legion.
“Activities will include our special guest, the Borderland Community Orchestra,” noted ETL co-ordinator Josette Vargas.
Other attractions include a penny table, face-painting, healthy snacks, and children’s crafts.
Tickets will cost $5 each, or $12 per family. They can be purchased in advance at the ETL, the Emo municipal office, and Scrap-A-Bit.
Anyone with questions in regards to the above can call 482-2946.
In other news, the ETL once again is planning to offer a babysitting course for those aged 12, or who will turn 12 by the end of it. Call the centre at 482-2946 for more info.
There are still some toy pieces missing in action from the ETL. Parents are asked to check to make sure there are no pieces lying in-between your couch cushions, under your child’s favourite place to sit, lost in the toy box with other toys, or anywhere else in your home.
Vargas and assistant co-ordinator Joan MacGibbons thank you for your assistance in this matter. Some toys are not much fun to play with if there are missing pieces.
January is quickly coming to a close but there still are some interesting programs left, including “Barney Day” this Friday (Jan. 25).
A story about groundhogs is planned Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 10-11 a.m., with kids’ craft slated Thursday, Jan. 31 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. A sliding party will follow.
