Potential development of town properties will be the topic of a special committee of the whole slated for tomorrow (Thursday).
Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig said yesterday a couple of items to do with town-owned property were included in the recent strategic plan, and these have been set out on timelines which are ever-approaching.
“What we’re looking for is to have a general discussion with council to get some direction on how we’re going to go about researching these issues, like if we’re going to go through some committees or what we’re going to do in regards to the completion [of the items],” McCaig noted.
Some of the properties that bear discussion include the old Rainy Lake Hotel and Huffman School, among others.
“I just wanted to have a discussion and decide among council and staff how we are going to proceed with some of those issues,” McCaig said.
The open meeting is scheduled to run from noon-1 p.m. in the committee room downstairs at the Civic Centre.
