Town to hear report on doctor recruiting

Staff

After asking the Rainy River Future Development Corp. earlier this year to review the physician recruitment and retention model in Fort Frances, town council will hear a report back from the RRFDC at tonight’s regular meeting.
Economic development officer Geoff Gillon said Friday they have reviewed the model as asked, and will have some recommendations for council tonight.
Council passed a resolution Jan. 11 authorizing the RRFDC to develop terms of reference and a revision to the current model of the doctor recruitment committee.
The month before, council had passed a resolution to pursue changes and enhancements to local doctor recruitments efforts in Fort Frances.
Also on the agenda for tonight’s meeting is a presentation by Paul Noonan, owner of La Place Rendez-Vous, regarding council’s decision at its Feb. 22 meeting to permit weddings and receptions at Sunny Cove Camp.
