Due to high-water levels, the town’s Emergency Control Group updated their emergency declaration to include flooding. Patrick Briere, emergency management specialist says the town is going to begin sandbagging efforts starting with protecting municipal infrastructure and assets.

“We’re just looking to get ahead of the game,” says Briere.

He says they’ll start at Point Park, and the south beach where the retaining wall is. He says he wants to avoid outcomes similar to 2014, where the retaining wall took severe damage.

Once done that, he says they’ll look to assist residents affected by high water.
