The Town will be accepting household hazardous waste for free this Saturday, Sept. 12, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Public Works Yard, 900 Wright Ave. N.
Anyone wanting to drop off household hazardous waste can do so at the doors along Fifth St. W. The Town advises that waste being dropped off should be in the original containers and not mixed.
The types of waste being accepted include:
- Pesticides/insecticides/herbicides
- Antifreeze
- Furniture polishes and waxes
- Wood preservatives
- Household/toilet/drain cleaners
- Acids
- Car/household batteries
- Pharmaceuticals
- Metal polishers and cleaners
- Paint strippers/solvents
- Old paint
- Rust remover
- Acetylene
- Fluorescent lightbulbs/tubes
- Mercury thermometers
- Hobby chemicals
Other potentially toxic or hazardous materials may be accepted. The next free tipping yard waste day will be held on Nov. 14.
