Town names new curator

Press Release

The Town of Fort Frances is pleased to announce that Sherry George has accepted the position of curator at the Fort Frances Museum.
She replaces Pam Cain, who has accepted a position in Thunder Bay.
George has worked as the museum assistant since November, 2009. During this time, she has worked on various projects, including last summer’s logging exhibit and, more recently, the Fort Frances High School display.
Prior to that, George worked as a senior administrative assistant at AbitibiBowater in the areas of Communications and Training.
Since starting at the museum, George has been taking courses in collection management, de-accessioning, and collections care and conservation, and is working towards her certificate in Museum Studies.
A lifelong resident of Fort Frances, George is very interested in history and hopes to publish a historical novel someday.
We are confident she will bring a great deal of knowledge, skill, and resourcefulness to the position, as well as continue to provide quality services and activities to the residents of Fort Frances and district.
