Press Release
The Town of Fort Frances has hired a new clerk to replace Glenn Treftlin, who retired June 30 after 26 years of service.
Elizabeth (Lisa) Slomke will assume the role of municipal clerk, effective Aug. 27.
Hailing from Northwestern Ontario, Slomke is a dedicated municipal professional with more than 20 years of administrative experience.
She received her education in Thunder Bay, and has been the clerk for the Municipality of Greenstone since 2010.
In her first few months in that role, Slomke successfully prepared for and delivered the municipal election-garnering a resounding voter turnout while exploring alternative voting methods.
Slomke also is in the process of completing her Certified Municipal Officer designation.
In her spare time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
The town would like to sincerely thank Glenn Treftlin for his years of service, and introduce Lisa Slomke and her family to our community with a warm welcome.
