Town reps will be speaking to provincial ministers during the annual Ontario Good Roads Association/Rural Ontario Municipal Association (OGRA/ROMA) conference this week in Toronto.
Mayor Roy Avis, Couns. Wendy Brunetta and Ken Perry, and Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig will present nine briefs to ministers on topics ranging from wood rights and infrastructure funding to the absence of a Crown attorney here since the retirement of Robert “Buster” Young.
The conference, which also includes workshops and opportunities for networking, began yesterday and runs through Wednesday.
Due to the number of local delegates attending the conference, there will be no meeting of council tonight.
The next one is scheduled for Monday, March 7, with a second one slated for March 14.
The next scheduled meeting on the 2016 town budget is set for March 21.
