Town appreciation dinner slated tomorrow

Two retirees and three people with 25 years of service under their belts will be among those honoured at the town’s annual appreciation dinner tomorrow evening.
Retiring are Lance Salchert and Paul Clarke, while Alan Eide, Ray Skirten, and Loreen Holt are those being recognized for a quarter-century of service.
“The dinner’s really an evening of recognition for those who’ve really been involved in the community,” noted Mayor Glenn Witherspoon who will emcee the event, which takes place at the Red Dog Inn.
“And it ties in with Christmas as a year-end event. It’s an annual tradition,” he added.
Besides those mentioned above, members of the town’s numerous boards and committees will be recognized for their volunteerism.
“Citizen of the Year” John McTaggart also will be formally honoured tomorrow night.
The invite-only evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7.
