Last Wednesday, the local Emergency Medical Services and the OPP were called to the McFinley Mine site dock near Cochenour.
At the scene, locals were trying to resuscitate a 58-year-old man, who was unresponsive to the efforts.
An investigation revealed that a fishing party of three men from Illinois had been fishing on Red Lake when the man fell into the water.
He was not wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) at the time.
With the assistance of other boaters, the man was brought to the McFinley dock to receive medical attention.
The deceased, who was identified as Robert D. Glick, had been visiting Red Lake from Highland Park, Ill.
