‘tour de Fort’ creates encore series

Encore! Encore! Encore! was the response “tour de Fort” organizers got recently from those individuals who missed out on purchasing passports for its 2001-02 concert series.
With passports selling out much faster than anticipated, organizers of the popular six-concert lineup decided to create an “encore” series of concerts so more people can experience the kind of performances being showcased during the regular series.
“We had such a huge response that we decided to give an encore performance,” said tour de Fort president Wendy Brunetta. “It will be the same variety and quality as our passport series.”
Consisting of three concerts, people will have the chance to purchase encore series vouchers next Tuesday (July 17) from 4-7 p.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library.
“Jim Avis has done a great job of lining up some exceptional performers for this coming season for both series,” noted tour de Fort spokesperson Wanda Botsford.
“We are able to draw some great entertainers because Fort Frances has a great reputation,” she added. “They are always impressed with our auditorium and they like the way they are treated by the people.”
Although the lineup has yet to be announced, Botsford is certain people won’t be disappointed with the performances.
“We are planning on having the same quality of performers that we have during the passport series,” she stressed. “[However], we will gladly refund the full price of the encore series vouchers prior to the first concert if someone is not pleased with the lineup once it is announced.”
Unsure whether these concerts will become a regular feature each year, organizers now are just waiting to see what the public’s response will be.
“We’re not sure yet [if] this encore series will be offered annually,” Botsford remarked. “We’ll try it and see how it evolves from here.”
