Although we don’t have any of that white stuff on the ground, we have one sure sign that it’s ’tis the season to prepare for Christmas.
The sign I’m referring to is an abundance of craft and bake sales.
The first is the Burriss and McIrvine Women Institutes’ “Early Holiday” tea, bake, and craft sale which is coming up next Wednesday (Nov. 21) from 2-4 p.m. at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau (the old CN station).
Admission is $3, with proceeds going towards the W.I. Museum in Emo.

A touching Remembrance Day service was held Friday at Crossroads School here in Devlin, emceed by Samantha Stahn.
The school was privileged to have Travis Enge playing bagpipes and performing the procession. Several classes performed music and poems, and a slide show was enjoyed.
But the highlight of the program was retired Master Cpl. Darcy Robson, who gave an educational and touching touch on war.
The program ended with everyone singing “Let There be Peace on Earth.”
