Press Release
A chance to have a boot-scootin’ fun time raising money for health care is still available as some tickets are left for the Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s annual dinner coming up next Saturday (Sept. 14) at the Emo Arena.
“The tickets are selling well and we’ve sold many reserved tables of eight,” noted Allison Hyatt, who chairs the Foundation’s special events committee.
“We’re also having a tremendous response from the people and businesses in the west end of the district, who are either attending the events or donating items and money,” she added.
“This year, the proceeds will support the purchase of a replacement mechanical lift in Emo Health Centre and an IV pump for Rainy River Health Centre,” said Foundation director Nicke Baird.
“We don’t want to spoil all of the surprises, but we have a gourmet chuckwagon meal with a pig roast being prepared by Ryan Parisien from Naicatchewenin Development Corporation,” noted Baird.
Also on tap are specialty drinks by Boston Pizza, great country music by “The Sound Man,” and beautiful rustic cowboy décor by Gibson Design.
“We’ll be playing ‘Lasso the Bull,’ sponsored by the Fort Frances Legion as a premiere sponsor of the event,” added Baird.
“Entertainment will be provided also, and this year again you could win a trip to Vegas!” she enthused.
Transportation will be available to the event from the La Verendrye General Hospital parking lot.

Tickets cost $50 each, which are available at all four of Riverside facilities, as well as at Gillons’ or McTaggarts.
