Tickets moving for Andrusco concert

After performing a sold-out show here back in March, 2006, pianist Billy Andrusco will be returning for a fundraiser concert on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
And concert organizer Bill Gushulak noted yesterday that people had better not wait until the last minute to get their tickets.
“Ticket sales are going quite well. We’re expecting them to really take off now that we’re starting to promote them,” he said. “We’re at about 100.
“We have a total of 425 to sell [but] we expect by the month’s end to be sold out.
“It was a sell-out in March, 2006, and we were told by people at that time that it was the best concert they’d ever seen at the [Townshend] theatre, and asked ‘When can he come back?’” added Gushulak.
“He’s back by popular demand, and we’re excited about having him.”
The concert will be dual fundraiser for the Fort Frances Curling Club and the Fort Frances Public Library’s ‘Building for the Future” campaign.
Concert tickets are available for $25 each at Fort Frances General Supply, the Fort Frances Public Library, and Sight & Sound.
For those not aware, Fort Frances native Andrusco is a multi-talented musician with 40 years of experience playing piano, composing, teaching, performing, and producing.
Gushulak also said Andrusco’s fans should take note as the renowned pianist and recording artist will be launching a new CD at the Oct. 11 concert here.
As well, organizers are arranging for a meet-and-greet after the performance, so concert-goers will be able to catch up with Andrusco and perhaps buy a CD or two.
Gushulak said given the fact the concert is a fundraiser for the new library, it’s likely the “Building for the Future” campaign also will be promoted at that time.
He added local sound technician Brian Harris will be in charge of the audio at Andrusco’s concert, “so people can expect the best in sound technology.”
“Coupled with Billy’s great talent, it’s going to be awesome,” he enthused. “We’re really looking forward to it.”
