Tickets for the “Acts of Kindness Benefit” coming up on Dec. 3 will go on sale tomorrow at many locations around town, including the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce office on Scott Street.
They cost is $30 each or $265 for a VIP table.
A VIP table seats eight in an ideal location reserved for you and the other people you choose to sit with.
Organizers of the Fort Frances “Community Chest” fundraiser are encouraging residents to get their tickets sooner than later.
“Every ‘Community Chest’ event sells out quickly,” noted Tannis Drysdale.
“Add in the Legion ladies’ superb cooking and we expect a full house.”
Drysdale added the public can visit www.acts-of-kindness.ca for locations and updates on the event.
The benefit, set for Friday, Dec. 3 starting at 6 p.m. at the local Legion, will feature a traditional Christmas turkey dinner, live entertainment including Kayla Lauzon and “Phoenix Project,” and auctions.
In related news, individuals and businesses are invited to donate gifts of time or service for the “Acts of Kindness Benefit.”
These, in turn, will be auctioned off or otherwise sold at the benefit, with proceeds going to the Fort Frances “Community Chest.”
“Acts of Kindness” can be anything from snow shovelling, running errands, and giving haircuts to tax preparation, plumbing, car detailing, preparing dinner for six, a snowmobile or fishing outing, or singing at a house party.
The “Community Chest” provides financial aid to local families who may need help to cover medical costs.
