Born and raised in Fort Frances, I’m a fourth generation in my family to make Fort Frances my home.
I’m married to Marty, a retired pipefitter from the Fort Frances mill. We have three adult children with families of their own living, contributing, and participating in the community.
I believe my diverse career background, along with 12 years municipal council experience, gives me the tools I need to meet the challenges facing our community.
I worked for Bell Canada for 15 years, completing my Bell experience as manager of Operator Services having worked my way through the ranks.
The Business Improvement Board engaged me to be their co-ordinator for the first revitalization project in the downtown core. The light standards, trees, and brick sidewalks are the enduring infrastructure left from that project.
In 2005, I received recognition for 25 years of service with the Rainy River District School Board as an educational support personnel. I have provided specific services to the speech/language and library programs.
I am currently a member of the Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario (ETFO) ESP Branch.
Steering the direction of a community is not a game. It’s not about winning or losing. It’s about making a right decision and that begins with having the right information, asking questions, entering into discussion or debate, and respecting other’s viewpoints.
In the end, it’s about the responsibility of making the best decision you can in the interest of the people you represent.
I’ve never lost my enthusiasm for this community. There was never any doubt I would seek a seat at the council table in 2006. I believe I have the integrity, commitment, and time to work for you.
I ask for your vote.
