Thunder lose to Ice Dogs yet again

The Borderland Thunder will have close to a week to think about their 4-2 loss to Dryden there last night—their third-straight setback to the Ice Dogs.
The Thunder now are just 5-8-2 since the Christmas break, with their overall record sitting at 26-12-3,
Dryden scored in the middle of the first period, then added three more in the second for a 4-0 lead.
The Thunder got on the board later in the period when Steven Sus found the back of the net, assisted by Kurt Hogard and Riley Dudar.
Martin Kloucek made it 4-2 (unassisted) with 2:30 left in the game, but the Thunder could get no closer.
Late penalties hurt any chance the Thunder had to rally as they finished the game on the penalty kill.
The Thunder next will host these same Ice Dogs (18-19-0) next Tuesday (Feb. 22) at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena.
With the Thunder in second place and Dryden comfortably in third, these same two teams also will meet in the first round of the playoffs, which start in less than a month.
The other semi-final series will pit the first-place Fort William First Nation North Stars against the fourth-place K&A Variety Golden Hawks.
