Three new local cases reported last week


Three new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported late last week. On July 2, Northwestern Health Unit has received a report of two new positive COVID-19 test results in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub area. The individuals were a 30 year old and a 60 year old, both male.

On July 3, the NWHU received a report of one new positive COVID-19 test result in the Fort Frances Health Hub area. That individual is a female in her 30’s. Follow up with the people involved and their contacts has taken place according to protocol.

Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted by the NWHU directly.

For reasons of privacy, NWHU does not release or comment on information about the location of COVID-19 test results.

Information about method of transmission will be posted to the Ontario COVID data website when it is available. As of press time, the method of transmission is unknown.

The NWHU asks that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practice preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask when physical distancing is not possible, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.
