Three people were sent to hospital early this morning following a single-vehicle accident on the 1200 block of Second St. East.
Police said that shortly before 5 a.m. a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was eastbound on Second Street at a high rate of speed when the vehicle collided with two hydro poles.
Three occupants were able to exit the vehicle before the vehicle became engulfed in flames.
Two females and one male were taken to La Verendrye Hospital with significant injuries.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Rainy River District Emergency Medical Services and Fort Frances Fire and Rescue responded to the accident.
The 1200 block of Second Street East remains closed until the investigation is complete and Fort Frances Power Corporation completes the necessary repairs to the damaged hydro poles.
