Three people were sent to hospital yesterday morning after being injured in an electrical accident at the AbitibiBowater paper mill here.
Mill manager John Harrison said two AbitibiBowater electricians, along with one co-op electrical student, were injured from an electrical arc flash while working on a paper machine drive.
All three were transported via ambulance to La Verendrye Hospital here for treatment.
Two of the men then were sent to Toronto for further treatment while the third is receiving treatment in Winnipeg, Harrison noted this morning.
The Ministry of Labour immediately was notified of the accident and currently is on site investigating the accident.
The Electrical Safety Authority was expected to arrive here today.
An internal investigation of the accident also was initiated yesterday and is ongoing, the mill said.
