Tennis court on agenda

Town council will receive a presentation about a local tennis court project at tonight’s regular meeting.
Former councillor Rick Wiedenhoeft, who was an advocate for fitness during his 11 years on council, not to mention his years as a Fort High phys. ed. teacher and athletic director, will make the presentation.
The committee of the whole will meet first at 5:30 p.m., with the regular council meeting to follow.
Tonight’s agenda also includes:
•a written request for municipal tax relief (2010-19) from Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 president Ray Watson;
•a tender for the sale and removal of three town-owned buildings at 501 Sixth St. W.;
•a report re: the town’s social media conduct policy;
•a report re: a financial request from the Rainy River District Festival of the Performing Arts;
•a report re: an advertising request from the North of Superior Travel Association;
•a report re: 2014 capital financing;
•a report re: the appointment of a closed meeting investigator;
•a per diem and travel claim for Coun. June Caul, and a per diem claim for Mayor Roy Avis, for attendance at the Rainy River District Municipal Association’s annual general meeting Jan. 31 in Emo;
•several travel and per diem claims for Mayor Avis and Couns. Ken Perry and June Caul.
