“If you go out in the woods Friday, you’re in for a big surprise. If you go out in the woods Friday, you’ll . . . find no bears.
But that’s because they’ll all be at the Fort Frances Public Library for the ever-popular Teddy Bear Picnic!
“We have over 200 tickets sold,” librarian Andrea Avis said. “But we won’t turn anyone away. Last year, we had over 400 kids so we prepare for it.”
Tickets are available at the Children’s Department of the library for $4, or you can pay when you get to the picnic, which runs from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. outside the library.
Activities will include a fish pond, Dr. Booth (“Teddy Doctor”), a “paw-reading” fortune teller, music, bear face-painting, games, and crafts.
Renowned children’s entertainer Rodney Brown also will be there at noon.
While The Place and the Friends of the Library have donated juice boxes and cupcakes, children are expected to bring along a lunch.
In case of rain, the picnic will be held at the Ice for Kids Arena, noted Avis.
