TBSO launches its latest CD

Press Release

After much anticipation, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra is happy to announce the arrival of its latest recording, “Into the Wonder.”
During its production in early 2016, the TBSO welcomed the distinguished artists of the Canadian piano and strings ensemble, Gryphon Trio, and executive producer Danny Johnson, to produce these new works by Juno-nominated Canadian composer Jordan Pal.
The recording opens with Starling, a triple concerto for violin, cello, and piano, “displaying processes that are poised at the moment of change, to be spontaneously and almost entirely transformed,” said previous TBSO Musical Director Arthur Post, under whose leadership the recording was commissioned.
The CD officially launched last Tuesday (Nov. 28) at Bight Restaurant, during the annual Mozart & Martinis fundraising event.
“Into the Wonder” is available for purchase in Bight’s gallery.
It also will be available at upcoming TBSO concerts, including “Messiah” this Friday and Saturday (Dec. 8-9), as well as at the reception immediately following the TBSO’s “Holiday Pops” concert on Dec. 16 at the Community Auditorium.
