‘Tbaytel for Good’ fund again seeking submissions

Press Release

Tbaytel officially launched its Tbaytel for Good Community Fund fall 2018 campaign, with members of the Tbaytel for Good selection committee hosting a panel discussion over Facebook Live yesterday.
“One of the questions we are often asked as Tbaytel for Good judges is what we look for when reviewing the submissions that come in, as well as what we feel makes a successful project stand out,” said Tbaytel for Good selection committee member Marilyn McIntosh.
“We wanted to take this opportunity to provide additional information for those who might be interested in applying for the fall campaign,” she noted.
“Not only to point them in the right direction as they’re putting their submissions together, but also to help ensure their projects are a good fit for the community fund overall.”
This is the second Tbaytel for Good campaign launched in 2018 seeking submissions for project proposals that help address an identified community need anywhere within Tbaytel’s serving territory.
Like the first campaign launched in the spring, six funding opportunities also are available for the fall one.
Applicants are asked to select a desired funding level of either $500, $1,500, or $5,000 and design their proposals according to the funding level for which they are applying.
Two grants will be given in each category.
Members of the Tbaytel for Good selection committee are responsible for selecting the two successful projects in the $500 category, as well as narrowing down a short-list of project submissions to be eligible for public voting.
Successful past projects have been innovative, creative, feasible, and, most importantly, have helped create positive change in a Northern Ontario community.
Specifically, successful applicants for the fall campaign should consider project submissions that appropriately answer questions focusing on the following four key areas of criteria: impact, beneficiaries, feasibility, and budget.
Submissions will be accepted from now until Oct. 2, with public voting on the semi-finalist video submissions in the $1,500 and $5,000 funding streams to take place from Oct. 15-29.
The winners from all three categories will be announced Nov. 1.
