Swim meet starts today

The Fort Frances Aquanaut Swim Team is holding its annual invitational meet today through Sunday at the Memorial Sports Centre.
The local Cyclone Swim Club also will be competing, along with clubs from Dryden, Kenora, Marathon, Selkirk, Red Lake, and Thunder Bay (two).
The meet is dual sanctioned for both pre-competitive and competitive
swimmers, which means many of the participants will be competing for the first time.
But there also is a full schedule for the competitive swimmers, as this will be their last chance to make qualifying times for junior provincials and junior nationals.
The weekend meet also will double as the NWOSSAA championship for swimmers from Fort High, giving them a chance to qualify for the all-Ontarios in Toronto next month.
Today’s session will run from 6-9:30 p.m., with two more slated tomorrow from 9-11:30 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.
The final session goes Sunday from 9-11 a.m.
