Summer job service a success

Press Release

It was another very successful year for students registered at NCDS.
Tyson Grinsell, the summer jobs co-ordinator at NCDS, had a very busy spring and summer, placing more than 125 employees at businesses across Rainy River District.
The total training incentive amounts equalling more than $83,000.
Grinsell also helped more than 200 summer students with résumés and cover letter development.
The Summer Jobs Service travelled to various locations throughout the district to assist with workshops.
It also travelled to career fairs and trade shows promoting our services and assisting students to reach their employment goals.
As well, the Summer Jobs Service partnered with Service Canada summer students to organize a barbecue in August to promote odd jobs, and also handed out popcorn and freebies during Mall Days in June.
Grinsell handed out NCDS grad packs to this year’s high school students, where NCDS presented a Nintendo DSi to graduate Jessie Brunetta.
